January saw J&B start the new year with an iconic two-for-one bash spanning a night and a day in stunning Cape Town. Festivities began on the night of the 30th with the launch of a new CD. The album was the result of a competition: music fans were asked to mix a track and other consumers voted on their efforts. The winner's work was released alongside ten tracks by South Africa's biggest DJs. A high-profile project deserves an exclusive launch party, which is why the celebration took place at Cape Town's new World Cup Stadium- the first event held there ever. As the location is still under construction, mirrorballs were hung from cranes, giving the evening a minimalist, chic industrial vibe.

The fun continued the next day at SA's famous Met, a horse-racing event comparable to Royal Ascot. It's the country's biggest social event, and a chance for SA's beautiful people to strut their stuff. J&B's been sponsoring the event for decades and this time its famous mirrorball prompted the theme 'Glitz and Glam'- an invitation to the so-fashionable-it-hurts crowd to pull out all the stops and shine like never before.
